Sunday Smiles

Yep its Sunday again so I thought I would share a little clip from one the games I adore BIOSHOCK!!!!!

Its been a long wait but on the 26th of feb 2013 we will all finally get to play this long awaited release.  Every since the first Bioshock game I have loved the music and imagery used, not to mention one of my favorite Cosplays.  I'm sure you already know but this is the game where the Big Daddy's and little sisters come from.

If you haven't played I suggest you do but until then..... enjoy a peek at what will be on my PS3 soon -  BioShock Infinite -- City in the Sky Trailer

Sunday Smiles

Well its Sunday here and I think its time to put down the needle and thread and have a giggle.  No surprise I have a weakness for the characters of portal, with special love to the companion cube and yes I do have one.

One of the great things of the internet is finding the amazing things that people are doing with the art of machinima.  If you haven't heard of Machinima before its basically using an exisiting software engine (like a RPG ie Halo) and creating your own movie or clip.

I'm currently trying my hand at music clips in the machinima realm and if your lucky I'll upload my Harley Quinn one for you real soon.  But until I thought I'd share The turret anthem by Zachariah Scott who used one of my favorite games Portal to create this gem .....enjoy

Work Log - Project 1 Hatsune Miku

As we head deeper into 2013 I realize that my list on projects is getting bigger by the day.  So to help keep track I've decided to share my work logs with everyone.

Project 1 - HATSUNE MIKU   初音ミク
As you may or may not know Hatsune Miku is one of the stars of the vocaloid world.  Basically she is a singing synthesizer application with a humanoid persona, she has even performed at live concerts, not bad for a singer who is projected onto the stage.  I'm not quiet sure why she, over her other counterparts, has taken my particular fancy.  Maybe its her clothing, or maybe its because she has that right mix of cute and bossy princess all rolled into one.  Needless to say she is super cute and project one this year.

Thankfully there is a lot of reference material for her out there so making this costume will be a bit simpler than some of my other ideas.

The image above gives a general snapshot of whats needed for a basic cosplay outfit, and there are lots of tutorials out there too.

Most of this week will be spend sourcing everything, and I admit the wig is a part I'm really looking forward to as it will be my first true anime wig.  So with my pennies saved up it will be a week of shopping me thinks. Then a lot of time making it all just right.  Now with the hardest part (i hope) done, that of finally choosing the project to start working on I need to get to work.  especially as is February now and the next con is mid march........
